Prof. Michal Schwartz

Schwartz is a professor of Neuroimmunology at the Weizmann Institute of Science. She received her BA, with honours, from the Hebrew University, and her PhD from the Weizmann Institute.

She discovered the key role of the immune system in brain function and repair, which led her to invent a novel immune therapy to combat Alzheimer's disease, currently in clinical trial by ImmunoBrain Checkpoint, a biopharmaceutical company.

The impact of her discoveries is reflected in her citation factor (117, Google Scholar). He has received numerous awards, including the EMET prize in 2019 and, most recently, the Israel Prize in Life Sciences in 2023.
